O.A.K. Meadow

In early 2018, Columbia Montessori School began building and operating an outdoor classroom. 

The outdoor classroom is called OAK MEADOW: Outdoors Acquiring Knowledge through Montessori Education And Discovery of Wildlife.

It has three main parts: a set of three raised bed in partial shade growing salad greens, a set of four raised vegetable bed that classrooms will pick out and maintain, and a native wildflower rain garden for absorbing playground runoff and supporting pollinators.

This classroom is used by all of our friends, and many of the plants grown produce herbs, fruits and vegetables that are used in our kitchen.
