2023-2024 Budget
A note about the budget deficit:
We are painfully aware that there is a child care crisis right now and child care centers across America are struggling to find employees due to the poverty wages and lack of benefits. Without teachers, we have no child care system. We continue to strive for change in the system so that more children can receive quality education AND teachers are properly compensated. We will work toward these changes by making efforts to keep teachers in this industry, and value the work they do. In order to give us the best chance to continue CMS's legacy and serve young children long into the future, we know we have to invest in the teachers we have now.
For the 2023-2024 school year, CMS has made a deliberate decision to increase wages of staff to that we can attract and retain quality teachers, even though it will mean operating in a deficit for this year. We also know this budget is not sustainable long term. It is our goal that the stabilization of staff will lead to an increse of enrollment, so we can get back to a healthier and sustainable financial picture.
